Value tickets

Value tickets are a good option for occasional users of public transport.  You can load value on your Travel Card  from 5 to 400 euros. You can purchase value tickets from card readers on buses, trams and trains. If you travel on the metro, you need to pay your fare before entering the platform area.

Validity of tickets

• Internal value tickets for Helsinki are valid for 60 minutes, on some bus routes 20 minutes longer. 
• Internal value tickets for Espoo, Kauniainen, Vantaa, Kirkkonummi and Kerava-Sipoo as well as regional and two-zone extended regional tickets are valid for 80 minutes.
• Three-zone extended regional tickets are valid for 100 minutes.

Choose the ticket that best suits your needs

A regional value ticket allows free travel on all buses, trams, commuter trains, the metro and Suomenlinna ferry within the validity of the ticket.  Also internal value tickets entitle you to travel on all modes of transport but only within one zone.  There are also tram value tickets that allow travel on trams only.

Night fare

A night fare is charged Mondays to Sundays between 2am and 4.30am. The price of a night time value ticket is the same for all customer groups. Card readers charge the night fare automatically during the night fare hours.
